What Exactly do Child, Family and School Social Workers Do?

– The Career I decided to do my research on is a Child, Family, and School Social workers. I choose this career because it is of interest to me. I really enjoy a job where I can work with and help those who are in need. Earlier in the school year I took a career test in the school’s career center and this is a job that showed up and is part of the reason I am taking the time to look at what is required of the job. What does a social worker do. A social worker has many duties. They need to assess the situations of those family’s or individuals they will be working with….  

Is the Social Service Broken?

– Over the years the population in California has increased and we are seeing more people enrolled in the social services. We are fortunate to have human services to help the less fortunate. As social workers noted; it is not an easy job to help one’s clients, but are committed to help and make a difference in their life (Merrill-Payne). Social services are comprised of general assistance, food stamps, Medi-Cal, children services, older adult-services, mental health, and drug abuse. There are many non-profit organizations that are there to help the community, but the counties offer many programs that are Medi-Cal based to help the community….  

Social Case Analysis

– A. My interest in social work began at a young age. In middle school I started attending my school’s church and became heavily involved in the church’s youth group. It was then that I was first introduced to the act of service and what it really means to help others. As part of our activities, we would feed the homeless and visit convalescent hospitals to volunteer. By participating in these activities, I began to take interest in the homeless and elderly populations. Another avenue that sparked my interest in Social Work was a classmate’s father, who was a Social Worker for the county….

As to any given argument or subject pros and cons as well as strengths and weaknesses will be weighed out enormously. The Runaway and Homeless Youth Act does abide by guidelines and requirements. All parts of the Act provide all involved with a clear and present purpose. I also believe that these shelters or centers provide the troubled youth with a support system that they could be lacking….
