Why I Want to Become a Primary School Teacher

– I am a hard-working, confident and conscientious and have a keen desire to be a primary school teacher. The main reason I want to pursue this vocation is because I love the prospect of working with children, being such an important part of a child’s life is a real honour. I have been fascinated at how quickly they learn things, gaining an insight into their perceptions and how they see the world, the idea of playing an active role in helping them develop, greatly appeals me. Having a long term goal of working with children, I believe I am particularly suited to a degree in Primary/Physical education….

And the days when my little ploys of “forgetting” to have done homework, were discovered in the most humiliating of ways. There was on specific day this happened, I can vividly remember. It was grade 3, half way through primary school, a time I never contemplated high school or my future, a time when the concept of homework was a joke….

My Work Experience at a Primary School

– My Work Experience at a Primary School For my work experience I received a placement at Primary School. It is located in Wyke, Bradford and provides education for children aged three to eleven. I attended High Fernley primary school for two weeks; my work placement began on 27 September and ended on 9 October. Each day I arrived at 8.30amand normally finished at 3.10pm; sometimes I would work slightly longer in order to finish tasks. I did not attend a pre-placement visit as a result of a delay in confirmation of the placement….
