This mortality rate has since dropped 25% from 2000 to 2009 (Rockett et al., 2012). There are many reasons for motor vehicle injuries, ranging from lack of seat belt use, elderly drivers, alcohol and young children being improperly secured….

Ethanol as a Motor Vehicle Fuel

– Ethanol as a Motor Vehicle Fuel Human society has been utilizing the limited inventory of fossil fuel for approximately 100 years. Due to its limited stock and availability a continuous search for alternative sources of fuel has proposed several alternatives to consider. Some of the alternative method includes rechargeable battery, fuel cell, alcohol based fuel, etc. There are two major types of alcohol that has been used as fuel. These are Methanol and Ethanol. Five to ten percent of methanol has been blended previously with the gasoline in the United States….

Physics of the Internal Combustion Engine

– Background Infromation In Cambridge England, in 1820 a man by the name of Reverend W. Cecil was explaining to fellow scientists and inventors how an internal combustion engine worked. All of his fellow colleagues just laughed at him and told him it could never be done. In 1860 Jean Joseph E’tienne Lenoir made Cecil’s idea come to life by building the first practical internal combustion engine.
