– After watching Heat, it is easy to realize the effects of global warming caused largely by what humanity labels progress and on the “acceleration of human consumption” (Smith). More than ever, individuals are taking a proactive, almost cult-like approach to save planet Earth. But, who is behind this “save the planet” crusade). Who determines what needs to change to protect the earth and its natural resources, and in fact, sustain life itself. They obtain the knowledge through various means such as research, experience, and observation in a particular area of study or in a specific phenomenon. Their knowledge of a certain field is specific and exceeds the knowledge of an average person, and this allows others to rely upon their opinion. These experts normally express their opinion in the form of writing in order to easily transmit and disseminate their opinion to the mass….
