Application Essay: Applying for Specialist Program in School Psychology

– For the past two years, I go to work everyday carrying someone else’s problem on my shoulders, officially making it my problem to fix. I reinforced my madness by telling my self that this phase in my life will pass. The irony of it is that life passed me by as I disappeared in the mist of trying to “fix” someone else’s problem. Each one of us has our own life challenges that we face everyday. Mine has been with the duties of the heart. My fiance has fallen into the abyss of drugs, and it has made my personal life very difficult to fully live….

– In this assignment I will look at the relationship between the foundational disciplines, which are history, philosophy, psychology and sociology, and education and see how they fit in with contemporary society. I will mainly look at how philosophy has made education what it is today and how philosophers would change education to make it better in their opinion. Learning Modalities, Environment, Curriculum and Personnel in Early Childhood Education

– This paper is written to explore the elements needed when collaborative skills in the classroom meet and intermingle within the regular design of educational programming and other services related to the special needs child in the early childhood education environment. Learning modalities will be defined. The importance of a spectrum of modalities in the way children learn will be addressed, with special attention given to the needs of a special needs child in the classroom. The question of why changes in curriculum, environment and personnel are necessary when dealing with a special needs student in a typical classroom will also be addressed….

– The U.S. has the highest rates of sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancies of any industrialized nation that put young teenagers at risks. It is estimate that 20,000 new cases of sexually transmitted diseases reported each year comes from people under the age of 25 and 82 percent of all teen pregnancies are accidents that account for one-fifth of all unintended pregnancies annually (CDC 2006). As a result, the government needs to stop funding and promoting abstinence only programs and start focusing on comprehensive sex education….
