– The courts have the function of giving the public a chance to present themselves whether to prosecute or defend themselves if any disputes against them rise. It is known to everyone that a court is a place where disputes can be settled while using the right and proper procedures. In the Criminal court is the luxury of going through a tedious process of breaking a law. Once you have been arrested and have to go to court because of the arrest, you now have a criminal case appointed against you. The court is also the place where a just, fair and unbiased trial can be heard so that it would not cause any disadvantage to either of the party involved in the dispute….
The Burger Court
– Warren Earl Burger was born September 17th, 1907 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was of Swiss and German ancestry and served as the 15th Chief Justice to the United States Supreme Court. After graduating from St. Paul College of Law in 1931, the lifelong republican held many various positions in the legal system while working his way to the top. Burger focused mainly in the areas of corporate law, real estate and probate law, while at the same time becoming involved in politics. Morse v. Frederick Civil Lawsuit: Bong Hits for Jesus
– … Morse confiscated his banner and punished Frederick with 10 days of suspension (later reduced to 8) for violating the school policy against illegal drug advocacy. After the school administration turned down his appeal, Frederick took the case to the District Court of Alaska and sued the school for damages and an injunction. Again, the ruling was against Frederick, which was decided in a summary judgment (a judgment without trial). Frederick remained determined to win this civil suit and made an appeal to the 9th Circuit District of Appeals, which ended up overturning the original rulings and ruled in favor of Frederick…. ;
Should Cameras be Included in Court
– According to Taranto, on the article Disorder in the Court, he builds a profound interest in the U.S Supreme Court which has on no occasion had a keen interest on the opinion of the oft-debated question of whether the oral arguments should be televised or videotaped. A vague aversion to the idea could have been acknowledgeable except it could have been impossible to articulate a clear argument to support it. The case that was being handled at the time was a minor case which could not have made it to the news headlines…. ;
