Director, Indian Institute of Petroleum (IIP) invites applications from Indian nationals for following posts in the areas of Chmical Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering Services and Administration :

1. Scientist Gr.IV(1) :
No. of posts: 05 posts (ST-2, OBC-1,PH-2)
Pay Scale : PB-3 Rs.15600-39100 Grade Pay 5400/-
Age : 35 years
Essential Qualifications and Experience: Ist class M.Sc. Chemistry (Organic/Physical/Inorganic) or equivalent qualification OR Ph.D (Organic/Physical Chemistry) in one or more areas as described in job requirement.
Desirable: Experience in the areas of job requirement will be preferred. Candidate with PCM background will be preferred.
Job requirement: To carry out R&D in any of the following areas – (i) Petrochemicals, Speciality chemicals / polymers and green chemistry. (ii) Heavy ends bitumen, coke, carbon materials etc. (iii) Pet coke/coal gasification, FT synthesis, Gas to liquid (iv) Biomass conversion to fuels and chemicals (v) Advance separation processes such as adsorption, membranes, absorption and solvent extraction (vi) Recovery/abatement of volatile organic compounds (vii) characterisation of petroleum products by HPLC, GC, FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM etc. (viii) Green chemistry

2. Technical Staff Gr.III(I) :
No. of posts: 01 post (ST)
Pay Scale : PB-2 Rs.9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs.4200
Age : 28 years
Essential Qualification & Experience: - Ist Class B.E/B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or ME/M.Tech in Mech or Ph.D in Mechanical Eng.
Desirable: - Experience in one or more areas of job requirement will be preferred.
Job Requirement: - To carry out R&D in any of the following areas :-(i) I.C. Engines,New generation fuels, mass emission,CFD,(ii) Tribology/nanotribology. (iii) Development of burners and furnaces & improvement of their thermal efficiency, combustion technology.

3. Support Staff Gr.II (I) :
No. of posts: 02 posts (SC-1, OBC-HH-1)
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.1900
Age : 28 years
Essential qualification: Ist Class M.Sc./B.E/B.Tech (Computer Science)/MCA or equivalent qualification; OR M.E/M.Tech (Computer Science) or recognized equivalent qualification ; OR Ph.D (Computer Science); OR Ph.D (Computer Engineering).
Desirable : Experience in virtual team collaboration systems and Application development using open source products, Object oriented programming in JAVA with coding experience,
Understanding of JAVA (J2EE), Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JNDI, EJS, Java Beans and applets; Development experience using J2EE - compliant application servers (Weblogic, Web Sphere, JRun Silver Strem), integration of web applications to back end data bases. Apache, jakarta Struts, XML (over RPC), uML Web/EJB/ java security. Good knowledge of office automation systems, object oriented analysis & design techniques;
OR
Life cycle development in VB, COM+, Dot Net, ASP, DCOM, MSMQ, C#, Visual Source Safe, Crystal Reports, ADO, IIS, HTML, XML, XSL, XSD, Object Oriented Design, _VB Script, _JAVA Script and SQL Server. Good knowledge of office automation system, object oriented analysis and designed Technologies; OR MS SQL Server administration including installation, upgrades, configuration and maintenance on Open source/Windows 2003 platform; perform relational databases maintenance, consisting of creating new and revising existing user databases. Create/update the data bases models; Knowledge in development and maintenance of stored procedures, DTS and replication: Backup and recovery options. OR
Knowledge of Oracle and Sun Solaris, Or Red Hat Advanced Server 4, Oracle network configuration, Data Modelling, Security oracle advanced features (replication, partitioning, parallel processing) STATSPACK, PL/SQL, Unix Shell programming, JDBC, Unix/Linux Shell Programming;
OR
Knowledge of Industry standard networking components and technologies (Routers, Switches, Cabling systems, Firewalls, Antivirus, IDS / IPS, VPN appliances, multi utility network security appliances wireless networking equipment and Video Conferencing etc. Working knowledge of open source OS/ Windows 2003 server, Active directory, and related IT enabled services. Must have Designed, developed and implemented highly secure multi location enterprise wide networks, Knowledge of state of the art industry standard firewalls, IDS/IPS, and implementation of multi utility security networking appliances,

Job Requirement: (i) Management, system administration of existing ICT applications & implementation of web enabled e-management systems in virtual team collaboration systems,
(ii) Migration of existing application from obsolete platform to newer platform, (iii) Development of design functional specification and SRS in consultation with CSIR Labs, (iv) Coordination for implementation of ERP modules such as administration, purchase, Finance, Project management so as to make CSIR and its labs day-to-day functions fully IT enabled, (v) Enhancement of features as per the user's needs of the implement applications, (vi) Handholding for the applications, which get implemented in consultation with CSIR Labs/Instt. through Data centre, approach in web enabled environment, (vii) Coordination for system software management and configuration, (viii) Coordination for AMC of System software and implementation of new software patched as and when required, (ix) Software development for in house applications requirements of the concerned laboratories. (x) Project Management, administration and coordination with CSIR HQ and concerned agencies/Lab.
users: for smooth operation the IT services inclusive of Gateway services. LAN infrastructure and Facilities of management services as per the SLSs. (xi) Management & Coordination for availability of Bandwidth. WAN links, Networks servers, gateway routers, security, firewalls AV serves, IDS/IPS etc to provide IT services.(xii) Responsible for upkeep of ICT Infrastructure and networking of VC equipments at Laboratory. (xiii) Implementation and monitoring of Networking security policy along with other ICT related policies of CSIR as and when required.(xiv) Coordination for AMC/Warrantee/ SLAs, performance issues of Network equipments, LAN infrastructure and associated services.(xv) Provide technological support for the network related operational issues for IT services and provide enabling environment for IT services and provide enabling environment for implementation of emanagement applications at laboratory level.(xvi) Network and asset management.(xvii) Coordination for implementation of distributed proposed applications and services on the network.

4. Support Staff Gr.I (I) :
No. of posts: 02 posts (PH-2)
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.1800
Age : 28 years
Essential Qualifications: Ist Class B.Sc. with Chemistry or Ist Class Diploma in Chemical Engg. of 3 yrs full time duration or its equivalent. Candidate possessing M.Sc. in Chemistry (Organic/Physical/ Analytical) or B.E/B.Tech in Chemical Engg would be preferred.
Desirable: Experience in operating Analytical Instruments like GC, GC-MS, HPLC, NMR, XRF/XRD, IR, UV etc.; OR Experience in synthetic organic chemistry or process development /
research; OR experience in catalyst process development / research .
Job requirement: To operate various Analytical instruments/operate pilot plants/carry outs process development work/provide research support to on-going projects etc.

5. Junior Stenographer :
No. of posts: 03 posts (SC-1, OBC-1, OBC-VH-1)
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.2400
Age : 28 years
Essential Qualifications: SSC/10th Standard with 50% marks in aggregate and ITI certificate in carpentry trade or SSSC/HSC/12th with carpentry technical subjects with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
Desirable: 3 yrs. experience in fabrication of doors, windows, partitions and lab furniture etc.

6. Assistant (S&P) Gd.III :
No. of posts: 01 post (SC-HH-1)
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs.5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs.1900
Age : 28 years
Essential Qualifications: SSC/10th Standard with 50% marks in aggregate and ITI certificate in Fitter trade or SSSC/HSC/12th with fitter technical subjects with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate.
Desirable: 3 yrs. experience in fabrication of structuring, vessels, piping and repairing of lab equipments etc.
